Acts 11:1-18 - Though Peter had a grand vision for the church, he struggled when God asked him to eat unclean food, showing his human limitations. We often pursue big dreams but struggle to let go of what holds us back. We usually see what we desire so that we easily fail to see any meaning of our small steps. Peter’s visit to the Gentiles seemed to be an insignificant thing but its event became a key moment for unity of the early church. This reflects that our faith grows through small actions, and ordinary tasks can reveal God’s bigger plan.

Acts 9:36-43 is the powerful story of Tabitha, a widow in the early church who defied societal expectations. Instead of being a passive recipient of support, she actively served and uplifted others, making a significant impact. Her life itself was considered a miracle, inspiring hope and faith. When she died, the community sought Peter, expecting another miracle, and she was resurrected. The story highlights that living faithfully, despite hardships, can be a sign of God’s blessing and power.

Revelation 5:11-14 - Power is a driving force in human society, shaping politics, economics, and even personal relationships. And power is believed to maintain the peace in our world. Our reading in the book of Revelation contrasts worldly power with something vulnerable and meek. This is the Lamb of God which is symbolising sacrifice. At the same time, this sacrificing power brings transformation. In this sense, Jesus’ crucifixion redefines vulnerability. In God’s kingdom, power is not for ruling, but for changing and uplifting the weak.
