Revelation 5:11-14 - Power is a driving force in human society, shaping politics, economics, and even personal relationships. And power is believed to maintain the peace in our world. Our reading in the book of Revelation contrasts worldly power with something vulnerable and meek. This is the Lamb of God which is symbolising sacrifice. At the same time, this sacrificing power brings transformation. In this sense, Jesus’ crucifixion redefines vulnerability. In God’s kingdom, power is not for ruling, but for changing and uplifting the weak.
