Service 6 April 2025
Fifth Sunday in Lent
In Philippians 3:4-14, Paul urges believers to find their identity “in Christ,” not in traditions or past achievements. He writes to a divided community, reminding them that Christ—not circumcision or heritage—is the true foundation of faith. Paul’s own life reflects this transformation. Once a zealous Pharisee, he became a devoted follower of Christ after encountering Him. This change was not small—it was total. Paul willingly gave up everything to gain Christ, knowing true joy and meaning come through Him, even amid suffering.
Just as Paul experienced a shift in Christ, we are invited to find the true identity in Christ beyond our own achievement. This identity in Christ carries us forward. Paul’s story challenges us to let go of the past, embrace God's power, and become living testimonies for others. In this sense, our faith isn’t about perfection, but about pressing forward, allowing Christ to reshape us for a meaningful, joy-filled journey.
