Matthew 18: 21-35: The Bible teaches that understanding who God is reveals who we are. Our blessed and meaningful life comes from following God’s gracious way, which is always relational rather than individual. Human choices are imperfect, often bringing regret, so we need forgiveness. Biblical forgiveness is not merely calming anger but embracing a shared, blessed life shaped by grace. Jesus calls us to forgive continually, just as God forgives, so that our relationships and choices gain purpose. In the parable, the forgiven servant fails to forgive others, showing that forgiveness frees both giver and receiver. This gracious life is our new identity.
