Service 20 September 2026

Matthew 20:1-16: Jesus’ parable today challenges our usual sense of fairness. The landowner pays every labourer the same wage, not because of their work hours but because he sees their need. While the first group relies on a contract, the later workers simply trust the owner’s goodness. Jesus invites us to imagine a life shaped not by earning or deserving but by God’s generosity. Like Israel receiving daily manna, God provides enough grace for our journey. We are the last labourers who are overlooked, but called, welcomed, and blessed. Today, as we baptise Sofia, we celebrate God’s faithful invitation into His generous kingdom.
