Matthew 21:23-32: Jesus’ authority is revealed not through speeches but through humble, transformative actions. In Matthew’s gospel, authority is experienced in healing, welcoming outcasts, lifting the lowly, and inviting reflection through questions rather than explanations. His parable of the two sons shows that true authority is recognised in obedience to God, not in words or status. We are called to use this same authority by raising one another up and acting faithfully. Even our failures can become moments of spiritual insight. This is God’s authority and power that are known through our faithful actions, guiding and transforming us.
