Matthew 18: 15-20 : Jesus’ teaching in Matthew offers a practical guide for handling conflict within the Christian community. The first century Jewish Christians who received this message lived as outsiders, forming a new identity as the church. Jesus instructs believers to seek reconciliation through conversation, wise discernment, and loving correction, never judgement. Agreement in the biblical sense is rooted in covenant, not majority opinion, and reflects God’s faithful unity with His people. Like a symphony, believers contribute different voices under God’s direction. When the church pursues God’s higher purpose, it exercises its authority for harmony, forgiveness, and shared commitment to God’s will.
